CFL's will reduce your lightning bill significantly, if you replace incandescent bulb which are used in excess of 4 hours a day. If you use incandescent bulbs in your kitchen, living room or out door security in the nights, do replace them with in CFL.
Switch on lights only where lighting is required. Your electricity bill dependents on the number of lamps, number of watts of each lamp and number of hours each lamp is used . Therefore by switching off unnecessary lights you will pay less for your electricity. |

Think before you open it. Decide what you are going to take out of it, before you open.
Keep the things which you are going to put in it ready, before you open the fridge.
Minimize opening De-frost frequently.
Set the thermostat according to what is stored.
Check the beading for damages. Replace it immediately if found damaged. Leakey doors make the refrigerator motor run more frequently than necessary, thus using more electricity.
Do not overcrowded the cold compartments.
Do not expose your refrigerator to direct sun light. Do not place it close to any source of heat.
Do not place any warm food inside the refrigerator.

Start by ironing delicate/synthetic cloths, while the iron is getting heated up.
End by ironing delicate/synthetic cloths, while the iron is getting cooled down, with it switched-off.
Iron as much as possible cloths in one go.
Do not leave the iron standing vertical.
Steam iron are more efficient.
Use a heat reflecting ironing board cover.
Thick twice, either you need to iron a particular garment or a cloth. |

Pedestal or table fans generally use less electricity than ceiling fans.
Some older fan regulators use same amount of electricity regardless of the fan speed.
Electronic fan regulators can save electricity.
Improve natural ventilation also can significantly reduce the use of fan. |

Use 36W/18W linear fluorescent lamps in place of 40W/20W linear fluorescent lamps respectively with high quality chocks.
Look for chokes with energy labels. We recommended chokes of 3 stars or more. |
